Gedup

To turn it off, you have to get up.

In the morning a task waits for you, like twelve squats. The camera counts them right on your phone.

FAQ

What if I am ill or hurt?

Then you hold the emergency exit for ten seconds and the alarm is off, without a single squat. The first time does not cost you your streak, the day is only marked red. Otherwise every morning you get up extends it.

Can I snooze?

Yes. How often, and what it costs you, is up to you: a share of your squats, for example.

Does Gedup run on iPhone and Android?

Yes. On iPhone the alarm rings through AlarmKit, so it also rings on Silent and in a Focus. The photo mission is Android only.

Do I need an account?

No. Gedup has no sign-in and no server for your data, your alarms and your streak live on your phone.

Do camera frames leave my phone?

No, not one. Every frame is examined on the device for where your body is, then discarded immediately. No file is written, nothing is buffered and nothing is uploaded.

So what data is collected at all?

Two things leave the device. Anonymous usage data goes to PostHog, which screens you open and whether a morning was completed, so we can see where the app gets stuck. Your subscription status goes to RevenueCat, so the app knows whether you have paid. Both hang on a random identifier created at first launch, and there is no name and no email address attached to it.

How do I delete my data?

Everything on the phone goes when the app does. For the usage data at PostHog and the subscription status at RevenueCat we need your device identifier: you will find it in the app under Profile and then Legal, you can tap it to copy it, and once you send it to us we delete everything attached to it within a month. The usage data expires on its own after twelve months anyway.

Can I just switch the sending off?

Yes. Under Profile and then Legal there is a switch called "Send usage data", and once it is off the app sends nothing. The subscription still has to be checked, otherwise the app could not tell whether you have paid.

Does the alarm still ring without a subscription?

Your trial alarm rings once, and then it switches itself off; turning it back on needs a subscription. If a subscription has run out, an alarm you already set still rings the next morning, so an expired card cannot cost you an appointment, and after that it switches off too. While it is ringing the app never asks for money, and you can always turn it off.

How do I cancel?

On iPhone in Settings under your name → Subscriptions, on Android in the Play Store under payments and subscriptions. Any time, and without asking us. The subscription then runs to the end of the period you paid for.
